The index page typically displays a list of recent posts or other content. Here’s how to customize it in Creator Theme.

Step 1: Access the Index Template

  • Navigate to Appearance > Editor > Templates.
  • Select index.html.

Step 2: Customize the Content Display

  • Post Loop: Ensure there’s a post loop block that dynamically displays your most recent posts. Customize the number of posts displayed and their layout (grid, list, etc.).
  • Use the “Grid: Posts” Pattern: Implement this pattern to create a structured, visually appealing display of your posts in a grid format.
  • Categories or Filters: Add blocks to allow users to filter content by category, tag, or other criteria.

Step 3: Add Supporting Elements

  • Sidebar: If your design includes a sidebar, add it to the index page with widgets like a search bar, recent posts, or categories.
  • Pagination: Include a pagination block if you have a large number of posts. This allows users to navigate through older posts easily.

Step 4: Style Your Index Page

  • Adjust the appearance of your post listings, including the post title, excerpt, and featured image. Make sure it’s visually appealing and easy to navigate.

Step 5: Save and Preview

  • Save the template and preview the index page to ensure everything is displaying correctly and looks good across all devices.
