Category pages help organize your content and make it easier for users to find what they’re looking for. Here’s how to set up category pages in Creator Theme.
Step 1: Access the Categories Template
- Go to Appearance > Editor > Templates.
- Select a template related to categories, often labeled category.html or similar.
Step 2: Customize the Layout
- Category Title: Ensure the category name is prominently displayed at the top of the page. You can also add a brief description if needed.
- Post Loop: Add a block that displays posts from the selected category. Customize the number of posts per page and how they’re presented (grid, list, etc.).
- Use the “Grid: Manual” Pattern: This pattern allows you to manually arrange posts or other content within a grid, giving you full control over the layout.
Step 3: Add Filtering Options
- Sort By: Include options for users to sort posts by date, popularity, or other criteria.
- Subcategories: If you have subcategories, display them as links or tiles for easy navigation.
Step 4: Style Your Category Pages
- Ensure the layout and styling are consistent with the rest of your site. Adjust the colors, fonts, and spacing to match your brand.
Step 5: Save and Preview
- Save your changes and preview a few category pages to ensure they look organized and are easy to navigate.
